Statement: My father died with Alzheimer's. At 90 he had a heart attack, just as that last slide into terror was beginning. My mother couldn't believe that a nuclear physicist could have a brain breakdown while she, the math challenged one, remained in possession of her mind. I could not believe the anguish of watching him disappear before us, and I could only imagine what he and we were saved from by his heart attack. So many of my friends have experienced this sight. Perhaps many of us will experience the disease as well.
I make the quilts in fervent hope that prevention and cure can be found and with thanks to this organization which makes it possible to give more than I ever could monitarily.
