"Postcard From Alex" on page 10 of The Quilt Life (December 2011) shares the story of Alex Anderson's participation in the 2011 Stanley Cup Quilt-Off. Her quilt "Disconnected" was made of dupioni silk, many given to her by a customer she met at Thai Silks in San Jose, CA.
