The Summer 2004 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine published an article about a group of fiber artists who were creating and trading fiber postcards through the postal system. The idea of an online community of fiber artists sharing their art and their lives generated a huge interest from like-minded artists from around the world. So many people wanted to join the fun that new groups of traders were formed.Postmark'd Art
was established in July 2004 with 42 members. Sixteen charter members are still active participants, trading fabric postcards with fellow fiber artists twice a year. Current members number 50 and hail from the US, New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
Postmark'd Art has had a website presence at www.PostmarkdArt.com since 2005 and interest in joining in on this fun has continued, spawning about two new
groups of postcard traders per year.
