Diane Petersmarck (Evanston, IL)
Diane is a scrapbooker turned art quilter — a natural progression as both involve design and color. Diane became involved with the AAQI by submitting a quilt for Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece and has made more than 60 Priority Quilts. She favors mixed-media fiber art and usually manages to add at least buttons, beads, paper or metal "somethings" to her work. She belongs to PAQA (Professional Art Quilt Alliance) and her larger pieces have been seen in both local and national shows as part of special exhibits.
Diane feels strongly about the importance of raising awareness about this disease and funds for research, having lost her father to Alzheimer's.
