Statement: I lost my Dad to Alzheimer’s in December 2010. My sister (Beth Hartford) and I both made quilts for the Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece show. We also quilted name quilts for Alzheimer's: From Heartbreak to Hope and I have two smaller quilts in that show as well.
Dementia ruins so many lives, both those with the disease and those who love them. I consider it an honor and a priviledge to do volunteer work for an organization like the AAQI. To make quilts for them is a sanity-saving exercise: a positive action in the fight against the disease.
