Also, while 16 professional quilters created quilts for the AAQI's first traveling quilt exhibit, "Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece," they were joined by 35 other quilt artists. Fifty-two quilts in all were loaned to the AAQI for the five-year tour and many were donated to the AAQI and subsequently sold to raise money for research.
