Artist's Statement: My name is Barbara Williamson and I am a self taught physically - challenged fiber artist and I make landscape quilts. I put a lot of time and energy into each piece researching, composing, constructing them, etc. I do a lot of embroidery and beadwork and often dye and / or paint my own fabrics. Making my quilts helps me in many ways: emotionally, with self -esteem, with pain control, etc.
I've exhibited in numerous quilt shows( even won a first place and "Best of Show") and I'm Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Fiber Arts Connection of So. California..
