LT211 - Losing Words

Woburn, MA   USA

Width: 10.5"   Length: 14.75"

Materials/Techniques: Hand-dyed cotton; digital prints on ExtravOrganza and cotton.

Artist's Statement: My father died from Alzheimer’s and I remember so well how he couldn’t find the words to say what he wanted, it was so frustrating for him. This quilt portrays the lost words tumbling from the mind like leaves from a tree. The “word” leaves were copied from an old dictionary and printed on fabric.
