Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric; paper piecing and crazy piecing, minimal quilting.
Artist's Statement: I’m pretty much a beginner quilter, and this is my first paper pieced design. The fabric includes cowboy, bandana, denim, and bluebonnet designs in the shape of a Texas flag to honor a wonderful Texas woman.
Dedication: I made this in memory of my best friend’s grandmother, Ora Lee Hoffman, who passed after a 6 year battle with Alzheimer’s in April 2007. She was the perfect Texas woman: wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, a quilter, homemaker, farmer, active church member, and a founding member of the Christian Assistance Ministry in Poteet, Texas.
This quilt has a plain back.
