Kings Point Quilt Club (Sun City Center, FL)
A "Patriotic Challenge" was the source of most of the quilts in the first donation of Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts to the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI) by the Kings Point Quilt Club of Sun City Center, FL. Making quilts to fund awareness and research will be an on-going activity.
The Kings Point Quilters meet every Tuesday, usually in the North Clubhouse; times, sites and activities vary. The 70 members have participated in many charity projects: quilts for children, Moffitt Hospital cancer patients, and veterans in the Haley Veterans' Hospital. Pillowcases for a children's summer camp and donations to the local hospice are among the other community service projects. A quilt show is scheduled for March 8, 2013.
