Materials/Techniques: This quilt has a border fabric of brown silk dupioni and the binding is fuchsia silk dupioni. The signature block is quilted in YLI 100 wt. silk thread with ivy designs free motion stitched in gradated green thread, and the background quilting is quilted in YLI 100 wt. silk thread. I used embroidery designs from OESD designs; flowers and buds are raw edge appliqué and stitched with OESD poly thread with cotton batting in the center. I made this quilt to raise funds for finding a cure for Alzheimer's. My mother died of this disease in May 2011.
