Green Mountain Quilters Guild (Vermont)

Recently long time member and many times past President Mitzi Oakes' husband Bill lost his battle with this treacherous disease, Alzheimer's. Wanting to do something significant in memory of Bill and to honor Mitzi, the Green Mountain Quilters Guild board issued a member wide challenge to make Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts to be donated in Bill's memory to AAQI.

Started in 1979, the Green Mountain Quilters Guild is the state guild for Vermont meeting twice a year in the spring and autumn. Programs feature guest lecturers who present topics to broaden the scope and knowledge of today's quilter as well as innovative technique demonstrations. A highlight of the spring meeting is the eagerly anticipated "quilters auction." Additionally the guild hosts a small vendor mall at each meeting.
