Mona Follis (Houston, TX)
Mona Follis is a retired mechanical designer who designs and sews traditional quilts as well as art quilts. She also paints and writes poetry, sometimes companion poems that echo a quilt theme.
Mona is active in two area quilt guilds, teaches quilting in the Learn to Quilt booth at Houston’s International Quilt Festival every year and has won top ribbons in her guild’s quilt show. She founded her Scattered Pieces bee in 1996 and teaches hand quilting techniques in a local quilt shop.
Mona lives in Houston with her husband Woody, Trigger the dog, and two cats: JJ, who thinks he’s king, and Bootsy, who reminds JJ he isn’t.
