Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Make A Virtual Quilt Patch?
Select the virtual fabric for your patch, type in the name of the person you are honoring, and click UPDATE. Click and drag the text to the perfect position on the patch —up, down, left, right. You decide. Select a different font, or text color. Change these as often as you like. When you're finished, click SAVE & GET HTML CODE. If you know HTML, go for it. If not select "Download Image," save it on your computer, and upload it to your web site or blog any way you know how. Please link it to: http://www.alzquilts.org/patch.html.

Go here to try it out.

Where Should I Put My Virtual Quilt Patch?
Put it on your web site on the page that gets the most traffic, like your home page. Put it in the side bar of your blog and then blog about the person you are honoring on September 21st. (Until then, blog about how others get a Virtual Quilt Patch on their blog. Send them to http://www.alzquilts.org/patch.html.)

Can I Change the Orientation?
Sure. Rather have the patch go side-to-side instead of up-and-down? After you create and save the image, select "Download Image." Then, manipulate the image in your favorite photo program.

Can I Change the Size?
Go ahead. In the HTML code you'll see img height=450 width=140. Substitute img height=225 width=70 to get a patch that is half as big. Or, delete "width=140" entirely, and just try different values for the height. (Don't change anything else.)

How Many Virtual Patches Can I Make?
As many as you like. The more the better.

What If I Don't Have a Blog or Website?
After you create and save your personalized Virtual Quilt Patch, select "Download Image." Right click the image, select COPY from the drop-down list, open an email, and then paste (CTRL + V) the image into an email. Email it everywhere! Tell recipients about the person you are honoring and remembering. Sent them to www.AlzQuilts.org to learn more.

How Did This Get Started?
The AAQI asks volunteers to create REAL quilt patches from purple fabric for remembrance ceremonies. Learn more about the Purple Patch Project and how you can help.

If you have other questions, Email me. Please note: I can NOT answer questions about how to put your patch on your website. I know just enough to be dangerous and I've shared everything I know here.
