Linda M. Poole, author of
Quilted Fairie Tales issued a challenge to her online Fairie Goddess Mother's Internet group: use your talents to create Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts to present to Ami at the 23rd Annual AQS Quilt Show & contest. And create they did! Sharon Dishuck of Castle Rock, Colorado, acting as the Temporary Registration Goddess, registered 186 quilts, (some
Little Treasures Quilts) the most of any group so far. The quilts were presented to Ami at a "media event" on Thursday April 26, 2007 at the AQS show in Paducah.
As luck would have it, one of Sharon's quilts was the 1000th quilt to be donated since January 2006 when the Priority: Alzheimer's Quilt project began. "
Feline Gallery," a 9" x 12" appliqued and embellished "quiltlet," was dedicated to Sharon's husband. Her artist's statement says, "To my husband, Steve, who has watched generations of his loved ones succumb to Alzheimer’s."
