The Courthouse Quilter's of Hunterdon County
annual quilt challenge for the Spring of 2011 was to make a Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. The evening of the challenge presentation, Patti Kerr author of "I Love You, Who Are You?" gave a presentation about her personal experiences with relatives who had Alzheimer's.
The guild offered awards for Best Pieced, Best Color, Best Applique, and Best Alzheimer's Theme.
Supporting the AAQI is an ongoing project. The Courthouse Quilter's of Hunterdon County have added an additional challenge, this year, to be done just in time to have a display of "Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts" at their biennial show, October 5-7, 2012. They plan to display the newly made 2012 Challenge quilts and include photos of the already donated 2011 Challenge quilts.
The guild is pleased to do its part in helping to fund Alzheimer's research.
