Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece
The 52 extraordinary quilts that have touched so many hearts at quilting venues across the nation since August 2006 have just been published in a 112-page book called Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece. It is magnificent!

Each quilt has a two-page spread featuring a picture of the entire quilt, one to three detail photographs, artist's statement, artist's biography, and information about Alzheimer's disease. There are over 160 photographs, all in color.

If you have seen the exhibit, this is a record of that experience to hold in your hands. Revisit each quilt. You will surely see details you didn't see before. If you have not seen the quilts, let me assure you that they are as poignant and compelling in print as they are in real life.

This book has a dual purpose. The first is to share the remarkable talent of a group of contemporary quiltmakers whose creativity draws us close to a very difficult subject so that we can understand, become more compassionate, and ultimately use our own talents to effect change. The second is to fund Alzheimer's research to find a cure.

With each page I find the warmth, humor, and heroism that underscores so meaningfully life with AD. You are a national treasure! ~~ Joanne Koenig Coste, author of Learning To Speak Alzheimer's.
The book arrived yesterday. It went to bed with me last night and I could not close it until I had read it from cover to cover ... with tears in my eyes with every page. So worth the money, so worth the time spent putting it together, so worth the organization you are supporting. Thanks for making it available and keep up your amazing work. ~~Sandra Drake (Waka TX)

I received my copy of Alzheimer's Forgetting Piece by Piece today which would have been my wife's 65th birthday. She died a year and a half ago on January 5, 2006 from Alzheimer's. I got a copy of your DVD awhile ago and it was moving. Today I read the introduction to the book and cried most of the way through it, so it will take me a long time to get through it. I continue to thank God and you for the work that you are doing. ~~Bob Brown
Thank you for creating this beautiful book. I already have the CD, still unopened, but I'm an old-fashioned got-to-hold-the-book-in-my-hands kind of gal, and I read it cover to cover the first day. I'm buying extra copies for friends. Thank you for your valuable contributions to the quilting community and especially for advancing awareness of Alzheimer's. ~~Laura
I just received my first copy of Alzheimer's Forgetting Piece by Piece and couldn't contain the tears—it is so beautiful—I am ordering a a copy for our local Alzheimer's Association. God bless you for this beautiful book.~~ Billie Blair, Bakersfield, Ca
