Materials/Techniques: This quilt is made with cotton fabric. The keyboard piece is part of a fabric panel. The machine embroidery is from my Baby Lock Ellegante 2 embroidery machine. It is machine quilted.

Artist Statement: My mother used to love to play the piano. As a child I remember her playing hymns on her old upright piano. When she first moved into an assisted living home, she took her newer, smaller piano with her and occasionally played it. Now, Alzheimer's has robbed her of the ability to play the piano. This quilt is for my mother, in memory of the beautiful music she played.
