Materials/Techniques: Assorted fabrics, cotton lace, postage stamps and art paper, beads, ribbons, embroidery yarn. Also foundation piecing, inkjet printing, hand embroidery and appliqué with a machine quilted background.

Artist Statement: Many of our parents came from other countries, waiting for a letter was a way to cope with everyday life. It was that small hope that would bring them closer to the land they left behind. For this quilt I used an inkjet copy on Pellon of my grandfather’s letter to my mother.
