Dixmont, ME USA
Width: 9" Length: 11.25"
Materials/Techniques: Using quilters cotton fabrics, I worked around the word “memories” embroidered as my theme. Embellished with bits of lace and heirloom machine stitches, everything was brought together with cotton batting in the center. The cotton single fold binding is totally machine stitched in place.
Artist Statement: I started making AAQI quilts in January 2012 just 3 weeks after major hand surgery. I did not want to put my quilt making on hold for the entire year of physical therapy I will need to do before I will have full use of it again. Making AAQI quilts is now my PT mentally as well as physically.
Dedication: Dedicated to the loving memories I have for my mother-in-law Lena Sorbo, who lost her memories to Alzheimer’s.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $36.95 for the AAQI.
