Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: The Treasure Chest block by Alice Brooks, was published in the Detroit Free Press on 8 March 1934. The header is constructed from a one way border print to make a mirror image, and the footer is another portion of the border print, also used in the pieced blocks. Quilted with clear thread.
Artist Statement: Leafing through Jinny Beyer's Album of Patchwork Quilts I ran across the Treasure Chest Blocks and pieced four of them with rich looking fabrics. The quilt came together with the dark blue random dot fabric and made me very happy to have another quilt to donate to AAQI.
