Nancy Keuss Cable
Chapel Hill, NC USA
Width: 9" Length: 9.75"
Terrie Sandelin from her book, Miniatures in Minutes, used with written permission.
Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton fabrics and batting and a few star patches created using decorative stitches on my machine then machine quilted and embellished with hand beaded starburst and hand embroidery on border with metallic embroidery floss. Four corner triangles in place for hanging in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.
Artist Statement: I thought a quilt using red, white and blue would be great to make for Independence Day. To stay within that theme, used this star pattern from Terrie Sandelin's book "Miniatures in Minutes", then added my own beadwork and hand embroidery with a big thank you to our son, Andrew Cable, for the quilt's title!
