Artist Statement: When I began quilting, I wanted to participate in the guild's block of the month program. Since I was a rookie, I would bring the block home, go to my fabrics and create the block with my own fabrics before working on the official BOM fabrics! Yes, I was chicken...this Snails Trail block came from that process. When the block was done I loved it so I made the BOM. At the next meeting I turned in the block, sat back and looked at mine hanging with all the others, they were beautiful! I crossed my fingers that I would win the blocks that night, and I did. I put the quilt together and my granddaughter sleeps under it every night!
