Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton cloth and thread, machine pieced and appliquéd, free motion quilted.

Artist Statement: I really believe in the hope that AAQI is giving to people who are touched by this terrible disease. I know there is a long way to go, but I believe great strides have been made, and hope is getting stronger. I wanted to show that in this quilt by having my fanciful bird breaking free from the darkness; in fact, breaking up the darkness.
