Materials/Techniques: I used a silk like fabric, polyester batting, and cotton backing to make this little quilt. I cut and fused the peacock, tree and branch to the cotton background fabric, then hand stitched the fused pieces down just to make sure they stay in place. The sequins and beads on the feathers, and the eye, are held in place by Scribbles crystal glittering for fabric. The top layer of quilting was hand-quilted first, and then the back was hand-quilted in a simpler design.
Artist Statement: I already had this fabric, which resembles feathers, and I like peacocks, so I got permission from a young lady who blogs to use her peacock pattern. This is my version of her design.
Dedication: To all those who have this disease and have forgotten how creative they once were.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $115 for the AAQI.
