Materials/Techniques: Made from cotton fabrics, some blue green and pink batik, then quilted both in the ditch and freehand. The flamingo is a resized pattern from Sara Nephew's book Patchwork Zoo.

Artist Statement: To me this quilt is much like the tiles often found in baths in years past. Having made the block with the bird, I added the borders that seemed to make it into a wall decoration. However, this flamingo is somewhat beady eyed.
