Artist Statement: Birdie. This is what my grandson calls my little quilt. He is 2 years old and is thrilled with the little yellow bird. I wanted to practice my FMQ, what better way than on a AAQI quilt? I spent 2 days playing with thread painting and applique and I learned a lot about my machine and my patience level. Trying to FMQ with a 2 year old running around is like trying to hold a sign up in a wind storm; it is doable but quite challenging.

Dedication: For all the caregivers that feel like they are being pulled in a wind storm and still don't give up loving and caring for their loved one.

This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.

This quilt earned $75 for the AAQI.
