Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton fabrics and cotton batting, machine sewn and quilted with a small amount of embroidery. I used Heat ‘n Bond lite as fusible for the leaves and tree.

Artist Statement: Ginda, my friend living in Italy, lost her father to Alzheimer’s a few years ago. Her devotion to her father inspired me to document her family using this tree motif which represents Ginda's eleven siblings, the 35 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. In the heart 'carved' on the tree are Ginda's parent's initials for Frank Ayd and Rita Ayd.

Dedication: I dedicate this quilt to Frank and Rita Ayd.

This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.

This quilt earned $70 for the AAQI.
