Materials/Techniques: Made of cottons and wool; I painted the background fabric. The orca is wool reverse appliqué.

Artist Statement: I love whales. They have always fascinated me. How an animal weighing thousands of pounds can propel itself into the air is just amazing. When I began quilting, I would cut out whale tails and appliqué them here and there. This is my orca, hope you like it.
