Frenchtown, NJ USA
Width: 9" Length: 12"
Materials/Techniques: Diane Phalen's fabric, old jeans.
Artist Statement: This quilt was made as part of the 2011 Challenge for Courthouse Quilters Guild of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Recently, a few of our members have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s so we thought it was important to help fund research.
Dedication: For Diane Phalen's dad. Knowing that I wanted to make an Alzheimer quilt for donation, I asked Diane Phalen at the Lancaster Quilt Show for permission to feature her fabric in a quilt. She granted permission, gave me the piece of fabric and told me that she lost her dad to Alzheimer's disease. Keeping that in mind, I wanted the quilt to have a masculine feel. I thought of using the jeans fabric and pocket that I had saved from my dad's jeans. I know several people grappling with this terrible disease and I know the AAQI will help make a difference.
This quilt has a Split Sleeve.
This quilt earned $50.81 for the AAQI.
