Materials/Techniques: Vintage cotton fabrics, assorted buttons. This quilt is an irregular shape but is 9” X 12” at its largest points.

Artist Statement: I found a piece of vintage cathedral windows quilting and wanted to rework it as an AAQI quilt. I deconstructed the blocks and put them back together in a random manner using buttons to secure them in place. I wanted to portray the idea of something as firm and steadfast as a cathedral starting to crumble and fall apart, much like the mind does when dementia sets in.
