Width: 6" Length: 4"
Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: Various cotton fabrics, pieced to create a scene, in this case of a bird on a tree branch. Cotton batting is layered behind the design and a muslin backing. The topstitching or quilting gives the bird and tree branch dimension. Free motion quilting accentuates some of the leaves. This is fused to one side of a 2-sided fusible Peltex, with a muslin back for the writing area of the postcard. Satin stitching is then done around the outside edge of the card.
Artist Statement: I made this fabric postcard as a dedication to my sister who has Alzheimer's. The bird is one of nature's smaller creatures and God takes care of it just as he does all of us. This is a fabric postcard.
