Materials/Techniques: All pieces are fusible appliqué and then satin-stitched. Hand-beaded flames and cake, machine echo quilting on the background. The back of the quilt has heart-shaped fused label for personalization with a fine-tip permanent marker such as a Pigma pen if giving this to someone for his or her birthday.

Artist Statement: December is my dad's birthday month so I made this birthday cake art quilt in memory of him. Blue was his favorite color, thus the blue cake with chocolate icing! Happy Birthday, Dad!
