Materials/Techniques: All pieces are fusible appliqué and then satin-stitched. Hand-beaded flames and cake, machine echo quilting on the background. The back of the quilt has heart-shaped fused label for personalization with a fine-tip permanent marker such as a Pigma pen if giving this to someone for their birthday.

Artist Statement: November is when I think of my mom the most as it's her birthday month. We loved to celebrate birthdays growing up, mom always made them special for us and we made hers special too. Then, when my husband and I were relocated for work and moved out-of-state we sent gifts to each other for our birthdays but more important was the phone call, sharing the latest news and wishing Happy Birthday. How I miss calling her and hearing her voice. Happy Birthday, Mom!
