Width: 9" Length: 9"
Designer: Original designMaterials/Techniques: Nine different red cottons; foundation/paper pieced center; traditional circle inset.
Artist Statement: This is another quilt from my ‘partitioned circles’ file. I divided this circle into 9 wedges with each wedge made up of 5 sections. In the planning stage, I played around with all kinds of color schemes. When it came time to actually sew it, I used scraps left from other projects. I still have many other reds left. Is it possible I like red?

Dedication: To the Abernathy, Texas Class of 1961. When we graduated and scattered from the Texas panhandle, there was no big plan to reunite. Forty-some-odd years later, quite a few members of the class started meeting every year, hosted by classmates in various towns all over Texas. In the spring of 2011, they took a 50th reunion cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Still close – close again – after all this time. Who would have thought?
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
