Artist Statement: This little quilt represents the way my mother's nights and days were mixed together. Some nights she thought it was daytime, and some days, she slept away thinking it was night.

Dedication: This little quilt is dedicated to my mother, Doris Austin Hays, a wonderful educator, writer, storyteller and the "very best grandmother.” She was taken from us too early by Alzheimer's.
