8557 – My Hearts Are Aflutter!

Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabric and batting was used, also a fusible fabric for the appliqué. Machine pieced, machine appliquéd and machine quilted. I also put three Fast Finish Triangles on this quilt so you might hang it two different directions.

Artist Statement: I was trying to meet the Oct.2011 Quilt-A-Month Club challenge: Theme: Hearts & Valentines. The butterfly is made with two hearts with little hearts in the fabric of the butterfly. Color/Fabric: two colors I have never used before...I like all colors, dark green was the only one I could think of that I had not used yet. Design/Technique: fusible appliqué...I fused the butterfly & the flower.
