Width: 7.75" Length: 9.75"
Materials/Techniques: Flowers are fused on white cotton fabric, lace is stitched on the edges after quilting.
Artist Statement: Years ago I acquired this and several other pieces of lace at an estate sale. I believe the lace was handmade and it had obviously been used on pillowcases, as each piece was in the shape of a circle and bits of thread indicated the straight edge had been sewn on. The top and bottom borders are made of one such piece. The sides, same pattern without the scallops, had evidently been an insert in something. The quilt is mainly a showcase for this lace, but look for the totally unintended bunny rabbit that just popped up.
Dedication: I am dedicating this to all those people who spent hours making hand goods that enhanced their daily lives. They had different values then.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $64.67 for the AAQI.
