Materials/Techniques: A border print with its colors used in the rest of the block. The outer border is pieced triangles. Cotton fabrics, clear thread. Six blocks with sashing.

Artist Statement: This is an old block, Red Cross. It was published by the Ladies Art Company in 1897. The flowered "cross" and sashing hide the original design to some extent. I was surprised how different it looked when put together. There's nothing new really, only new ways to present them.
