Materials/Techniques: Commercial fabrics, variegated threads, bound with ribbon, cording and fabric scraps. Tiny beads surround the flower's center.

Artist Statement: I've had this scrap of fabric laying out for some time now, knowing I wanted to make a priority quilt of it, but unsure of which direction I wanted to take it. As vibrant as it is as a background, I knew it needed a strong focal point and I decided to give it one! The flower is satin stitched to give it contrast and the inside of each petal is thread sketched.
