Materials/Techniques: 100% cotton batiks, machine pieced, inset circle, machine quilted.

Artist Statement: It had been a very hectic week and I was in need of something calming. With earthquakes, hurricanes, unemployment and illness, I felt in great turmoil. As I do when things get to be overwhelming, I turned to my fabrics. I thought about all the people afflicted with diseases like Alzheimer's who have lost the ability to find that calm space, and I created this little piece as a serene focus. Hopefully, others will look at it and see the calm.
