Width: 8.375" Length: 8.375"
Materials/Techniques: Cotton fabrics to represent the chocolates, milk and dark, and three shades of green for the mint. Quilted in the ditch and in the corner blocks with clear smoke thread.
Artist Statement: Chocolate is soooo good and now we find it is even good for our bodies.....in moderation. (That sort of takes away the fun.) The two shades of brown were easily identified as chocolate and the "mint" added a punch to the quilt, even as it does to chocolate. Do they still make chocolate stars? If so, Ill bet they cost more than 4 for a penny anymore.
Dedication: Back when chocolate was really a special treat, we used to hold the stars in our mouths to make them last as long as they could, and it was never long enough. This quilt is dedicated to everyone who recalls the thrill and satisfaction of penny candy.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $64.23 for the AAQI.
