Materials/Techniques: Cotton antique hexagon, original pattern from old newspaper on back of quilt, hand appliquéd, hand quilted, cotton thread with a hand sewn binding.

Artist Statement: This lovely old star has been in my collection for a number of years. The challenge for making this quilt was finding a color of background fabric that would support the star. I finally found a small piece of lavender fabric in my Mother's collection of fabrics. Since she suffered from dementia for a long time, it is appropriate that this star and fabric should go to support Alzheimer’s research.
