Width: 8" Length: 11.5"
Materials/Techniques: Collage of antique Japanese fabric, rayon, silk, cotton, machine sewn hand quilted and hanging ornament from Nepal (made by children to raise money for school).
Artist Statement: In Japanese culture, the year of your birth usually indicates the animal which is your patron. Ugh, mine is the rat. Never mind. If you are lucky enough to have the rabbit guiding you, then this should be your quilt. Who can resist the sweet demure rabbit? The ornament was added when our daughter sold handmade charms to benefit the orphan children of Nepal. The children make them and as their teacher during summer school, she can't resist supporting them. Even if you are not a "rabbit" person, you can enjoy this quilt because it represents two different nations.
Dedication: To Alzheimer’s patients and their families.
This quilt has a Hanging Ring.
This quilt earned $68.81 for the AAQI.
