Width: 9" Length: 9.5"
Materials/Techniques: Period printed fabric and old muslin. Hand pieced and hand quilted, cotton threads.
Artist Statement: Going through my antique treasures, I located several blocks that could be made into donation quilts. This is one of them. I am not sure of the name of the block or the date it was made but my guess is that the fabrics were those produced in about 1940 or earlier. This is the right quilt for someone who wants to preserve quilt history. For me the colored pieces represent 10 of many lost capacities that patients with Alzheimer’s experience. I did not hand stitch the original block, only added backing and binding
