Lakewood, WA USA
Width: 8.25" Length: 11"
Materials/Techniques: Whole cloth, hand quilted.
Artist Statement: This was my first attempt at using silk in a quilt. In doing so I needed to experiment to see what worked best. I tried different battings, threads, quilt markers, etc., and some worked better than others did. Similarly when my sister developed Alzheimer’s, we sought out ways to handle new situations. Some worked, some did not; it was a constant process of turning over new leaves to find what worked best.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to those who participate in Alzheimer’s support group networks, turn over new leaves and share their discoveries with others.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $80 for the AAQI.
