8005 – Nine Little Nines

Materials/Techniques: This traditional machine pieced nine patch is set on point, then square within a square times two is sewn with cotton scraps and quilted in straight lines. Using standard piecing methods the tiny nine patches are made from leftovers in my 3/4" scrap bin. Once the blocks are made they tell me how to finish the quilt, guiding me by the color and fabric choices used and the layout selected.

Artist Statement: Alzheimer's has left its mark on my friends and family members. If I can help by donating the work of my hands, so be it.
