Designer: This quilt is made with permission from designs found in an article in Quilter's Newsletter, "Mini Block Bonanza", September 1994, p.36-41.
Materials/Techniques: I used 100% cotton material, each block is 3.5". They were hand and machine pieced, using freezer paper templates. The appliquéd blocks were done by hand and the piece is hand quilted.
Artist Statement: These small blocks reminded me of the old-fashioned quilts my mother and her sisters made so many of, especially the fan, flower garden, and Sunbonnet Sue.
Dedication: This quilt is dedicated to my friend, Alison Schlenger, who returned to school to become a gerontological nurse-practitioner, and whose love & support helped me through some difficult times when my mother was battling Alzheimer's disease.
This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
This quilt earned $45.88 for the AAQI.
