Materials/Techniques: The background of this bright quilt was hand sewn featuring bright one inch batik squares with narrower beige sashing. All seams have big stitch hand stitched beige thread beside them. Onto this background, two partial bright yellow sunflowers, satin stitched with brown, brighten the quilt. Darker colorful batik with crystals and bordered with yellow chenille rick rack make the centers pop.

Artist Statement: Everyone enjoys a bit of sunshine in a room. May this quilt remind people to look for the 'sun' in their lives - even when the skies are gray.
