Width: 9" Length: 12"
Materials/Techniques: Repurposed fabric, thread, thread painting.
Artist Statement: In 2003, I made a large abstract art quilt (49" x 27") that I named Potpourri. I was never happy with the composition of the quilt. Potpourri lived with one of my nephews for several years, but it has recently made its way back to my house. Rather than just put it away in a closet, I decided to cut it into pieces and use some of them for AAQI art quilts. I made Potpourri 1, 2 and 3. The floral fabric in the quilt came from the skirt of a formal dress. The one thing I did really like about the original quilt was the extensive machine quilting. Flowers, leaves, and other designs show especially well on the back of the quilt.
